A recreational space like Aldeia Viçosa river beach it’s a very importante space for healthy management of a Natural Park like  “Serra da Estrela”. This gives a space for recreation and leisure activities, in search to order the tourist activity in this protected área.

The linear river beach design used materials like wood, iron and mirrors to establish a close relation with the natural space that surrounds it, and multiply it.

This space was created with the folowing permisse:

“elevating the all equipment from the ground while maintaining its permeability”

The equipments like: the post, toilets, showers, bar, terrace, medical station, dishwashers, barbecues, storages and trashs, were all ground elevated.

The river pool only work in summer using a system of floodgates for its definition above the level of the river water. In winter this works as a shelter space for young fish. The pool was fed by a tradicional water course.
