ferreirim riverside – távora dam (Sernancelhe)

This bridge intends to offer a new pedestrian crossing of Ferreirim Riverside and thus reconnect the localities of Vila da Ponte and Freixinho as they was before the dam construction.
The bridge has 206.68ml of board and consists of elements in wood and iron, with hoops in corten steel, with a constant metric, being punctuated with the twisting of these elements (hoops) in strategic points for the future water plane and surrounding landscape interest. The materials used fit the landscape where it is proposed to implant, being the wood and iron the most expressive, presenting chromatic values of the set that fit the whole envelope. All of its structure will be metallic based on concrete footing and coincide with the proposed hoops.
The bridge has supports of 11 by 11 meters which guarantees the free water circulation and possible solid debris.
The intervention area also includes 910.71 ml of pedestrian path to requalify. This path, existing on both sides of the projected bridge presents a peculiar choice of pavements, whose main objective was to highlight the approach to the water mirror. In this way next to the bridge appears a set of totally permeable pavements and in the opposite limits of the way the pavement of cubes of granite existing a little by all the rural routes of the region.
As a fence in areas without walls were proposed the placement wood posts up to 1m high, and spaced between them 0.60m in order to ensure a visual continuity of the limits. Existing walls are restored and cleaned.
