Public Pool Requalification (Guarda)

1st Place in the Design Competition

The base concept was

  “subtracting weight”.

 Subtract the force from the existing forms and the competition  program. After this emerged a new and harmonious program.

Simply adding the contest program would make the space confusing. The team opted to analyze and requalify what made sense to maintain and propose alternatives that would make the function and its accessibility clearer.

“make haste slowly” is the concept used to create the outdoor space.

We establish the shortest route between the entrance (current control point) and the implementation of the new facilities, like: the volleyball court; the athletics track; the playground or the tennis and sport court. In the various valences we created scenic moments, some quite intimate like the florest and others more guiding and perceptive like the distribution platform or the ramp and stairs system.
