My name is Carla Marisa dos Santos Madeira. I was born in Guarda (a small city of Beira Alta, located in the Serra da Estrela – Portugal) on October 1st of 1978. I have specific training in arts since the ninth year of education and attended the University of Évora for my first degree in Landscape Architecture. Currently I live in Guarda.
In my career I have been in some municipalities where I experienced different types of work, from organizing and publicizing events, improving public participation and governance, environmental or land use planning and also landscape architecture projects.
In 2007 I founded Terrafacil, Lda company, along with Nuno Morais architect. Since then I have coordinated an entire team of professionals always with quality, innovation and universal design as goals or essential premises.
The creation of “Loja da Guarda” brand and shop appeared in 2013. Here we made known the best that is produced in the District of Guarda, and we function as a presentation platform for creative authors, products and events.
The need for new tools and knowledge led me to do more studying, including a PhD in Management and River Restoration. My current research context brings me back to the undergraduate basis theme or the human dimension in the landscape. In this new case I tried to study human influences on the river landscape and consequent influence on climate change.
Along my journey I have accomplished diverse activities, always in an open stance to new enriching experiences. Painting and more recently design and craftsmanship which completes, with other art forms, the creative need that has accompanied me since I have known myself.
